Known for its great wines, such as Saint-Estèphe, Margaux, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Sauternes, the Bordeaux vineyard contains of 117,200 hectares of vines, 8,000 châteaux and nearly 10,000 wine-growers. or

 

Many wine estates open to the public offer cellar tours and tastings, i.e. Châteaux Siran, Margaux, Lanessan, Mouton Rothschild, Lafite Rothschild and Loudenne. Detailed information is available in the houses.

The charming medieval town, is a delight for lovers of old buildings and great views. As for food-lovers and gourmets, they can enjoy a grand cru-rated wine or delicious macaroons.

 

Lacanau Ocean

 

is above all a surfing destination: 

riding a wave, sea kayaking, kite surfing... There is a big variety of schools offering courses of all different kind of sports and age

 

Lacanau is also a golfer's paradise. Between lake and ocean, there is a very high quality golfing centre, nestling at the heart of 80 hectares of pine forest.

 

In Lacanau Océan you’ll find most of the shops and restaurants. In the evening the resort comes alive and the family beach transforms to a place for fans of nightlife, cocktail bars and casino.

 

Arcachon Bay

 

Famous for its oysters and its upscale resorts, such as Arcachon and Le Cap-Ferret, this little inland sea, open to the ocean, is also known for its exceptional natural heritage and the famous Dune of Pilat.
